Genshin Impact 2.5 Best Character Tier List: DPS, Sub DPS, Support

Read this guide to find out Genshin Impact’s best character tier list so won’t build the wrong character. Basically, there’s no useless character in Genshin Impact, but because there are a lot of them, a few of them is considered better than the others.

But if you play Genshin Impact because you like the character is design, for example, I think tier list doesn’t suit you. Just play what you want. In the end, Genshin Impact is an RPG adventure game, not a competitive one.

I’ve already played this game for a long time and Mihoyo as the developer use one rule for their 5-star character, the newer one is considered better than the oldest one like Diluc.

Marketing strategy so people buy Primogems for the new character? Maybe.

Genshin Impact just like the other RPG games, each character has their own role. There are three: DPS, Sub DPS, and Support.

To make this tier list more understandable, I will divide those characters based on their roles. Below the tier list, I will explain a little bit about that character and recommended constellation.

Just remember this game is called Genshin Impact, not DPS Impact. These things become a meme because some people judge a good character only from their damage.

Albedo

• Constantly dealing AoE Geo DMG to nearby enemies. Good against mobs.
• Elemental Skill can be used as an elevator.
• Recommended Constellation: C0.

Aloy

• Debuff enemy attack while buffing ally is attack.
• Infuse Normal Attack with Cryo.
• Recommended Constellation: C0.

Amber

• Low damage and utility.
• Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst is kinda useless?
• Recommended Constellation: C0 and better not get her.

Ayaka

• Can constantly dealing Cryo DMG using her Normal and Charged Attack after sprinting. Making her playing style less boring.
• Very high AoE Cryo DMG through her Elemental Burst, turn her not just as an mob killer, but boss slayer too.
• Recommended Constellation: C0.

Barbara

• Applied Wet status to yourself if use her Elemental Skill.
• The only 4 star that has animation effect when using Elemental Burst.
• Recommended Constellation:

Beidou

• The only character that can use counter stance.
• Her shield can be a good Electro reactor.
• Recommended Constellation: C2

Bennet

• The strongest damage amplifier in Genshin Impact. As well as the best support too?
• His Elemental Burst is what make him strong, but his Elemental Skill has an really high energy recharge rate.
• Recommended Constellation: C1.

Chonghyun

• Infuse his Normal and Charged Attack after using Elemental Skill.
• Can create an ice bridge.
• Recommended Constellation: C1.

Diluc

• Used to be the most wanted character, now his just an mediocre DPS.
• One of his passive ability is useless for most players.
• Recommended Constellation: C0.

Diona

• She has many function like creating shield, healing, and reactor.
• Has high energy recharge rate.
• Recommended Constellation: C6.

Eula

• Has the highest potential in term of screenshot DPS.
• Cool attacking animation.
• Recommended Constellation: C0

Fischl

• One of the best Electro Sub DPS when pairing with fast Normal Attack character.
• Flexible Elemental Skill.
• Recommended Constellation: C6

Ganyu

• Broke the game with her Charged Attack. One of the strongest DPS in Genshin Impact. Harder to play in mobile platform.
• Her Elemental Burst can be used as an Cryo reactor.
• Recommended Constellation: C1.

Gorou

• Has many utility especially DEF increasing.
• Increase Geo DMG.
• Recommended Constellation: C4 if you need geo healer.

Hu Tao

• The more health you lost, the stronger you are. Harder to play than ordinary character because that concept.
• Besides Attack, her damage is also scaling from HP too. Making your trash artifact become more useful.
• Recommended Constellation: C1 is really important because you won’t lose any stamina when perform charged attack.

Itto

• High Crit Rate and Charged Attack DMG.
• Elemental Skill can taunt enemenies. Using Charged Attack as his main damage source is kinda unique.
• Recommended Constellation: C0.

Jean

• Has many utility such as healing, cleansing debuff, throw mobs into air using her Elemental Skill and Charged Attack.
• Her attack speed is kinda slow compared to others sword users.
• Recomended Constellation: C0.

Kaeya

• Consistent Cryo reaction with his Elemental Burst. Damage is mediocre.
• Easy to gather energy because his Elemental Skill has low cooldown.
• Recommended Constellation: C2

Kazuha

• The second best crowd control after Venti, can gather mobs in a single place. Can be used as an elevator.
• Elemental Mastery buffer.
• Recommended Constellation: C0 is already good, but C2 makes him into a greater buffer.

Keqing

• Fastest sword character, but mediocre as an DPS because her Electro element.
• Teleport in a short distance using her Elemental Skill.
• Recommended Constellation: C0.

Klee

• Harder character to use because to you need to understand animation canceling in order to maximize her potential.
• Her sounds is cute, especially in Japanese voice. Traveling Tevyat with her has it’s own fun.
• Recommended Constellation: C0.

Kokomi

• Was one of the most hated character in Genshin Impact because of how confusing she is and her Signature Weapon.
• Great as an support character, but bad as an DPS that Mihoyo tries to force her.
• Recommended Constellation: C0.

Lisa

• Amber is Electro and mature version.
• Elemental skill needs a preparation in order to work.
• Recommended Constellation: C0, and better not to get her.

Mona

• Can taunt mobs with her Elemental Skill, but has an mediocre damage.
• Elemental Burst can greatly amplify damage. Use her if you want a big screenshot number.
• Recommended Constellation: C0.

Ningguang

• Her Elemental Skill has an ability to negate missile.
• Hard to gather energy because her Elemental Skill only produce a few energy and has long cooldown.
• Recommended Constellation: C6.

Noelle

• Give you big AoE Geo DMG when using Charged Attack after activate Elemental Burst.
• Sustain character that not only has a big DEF, but Attack too. Usiing her as an DPS it’s actually not a bad idea.
• Recommended Constellation: C6

Qiqi

• The best healer, but as an 5 star character, that’s not good enough. She can’t provide any utility except healing.
• Her Elemental Skill only give really small amount of energy, and to make it worse, has a long cooldown.
• Recommended Constellation: C0, stay away from Qiqi, get her as an 5 star means you ruin your pity.

Raiden Shogun

• Has it’s own niche to reduce Elemental Burst cooldown. She is the only character that can do such thing.
• Sky becomes dark when she activate her Elemental Burst. Not a technical thing, but for me it such a good detail to make her looks feel more intimidating.
• Recommended Constellation: C0.

Razor

• Combine Claymore and Melee Attack into one after using his Elemental Burst and boost his damage greatly.
• As an DPS, his damage is not good enough, especially because his Electro element.
• Recommended Constellation: C4.

Rosaria

• Can be a good support for Physical team. Out of that, you can only use her for Crit Chance buffer.
• Good against mobs, but lack against bigger enemy.
• Recommended Constellation: C6.

Sara

• Nerf version of Bennet. She can boost your team members attack in a normal numbers, not as OP as Bennet.
• Can restore party members energy.
• Recommended Constellation: C2.

Sayu

• She is just character that you use if you like her unique gameplay, or maybe her design or VA. If not, then there is a lot of better option to use like Sucrose.
• Her Elemental Burst can continuously dealing Anemo DMG.
• Recommended Constellation: C1.

Shenhe

• The best specified support for Cryo DPS. Shenhe can increase so much damage, as well reducing their resistance.
• Support character that depends on ATK stat.
• Recommended Constellation: C1.

Sucrose

• Elemental Burst can do multiple crowd control and Swirl.
• Getting energy is an easy thing because her Elemental Skill produce a lot of energy particle.
• Recommended Constellation: C6.

Tartaglia

• The only character that has two different weapon stances. After using his Elemental Burst, his bow transform into double daggers that deal a lot more damage and faster attack speed.
• Very good hydro reactor when using his melee stance.
• Recommended Constellation: C0.

Thoma

• Provide shield even though not to hard.
• Give Pyro reaction after using his Elemental Burst.
• Recommended Constellation: C1.

Traveler

• Main character in Genshin Impact that can switch elements based on the acquired regions.
• Basically traveler is just a weaker version of Archons.
• Recommended Constellation: C6.

Venti

• The best crowd control character in Genshin Impact. Especially with his Elemental Burst that can create Anemo black hole.
• Elemental Skill has one more utility beside crowd control mobs, you can use that to reach higher place.
• Recommended Constellation: C0.

Xiangling

• Elemental Burst that can deal really high damage and constantly applying Pyro to enemies.
• Her Elemental Skill sometimes become useless if you place it in the wrong place or moment.
• Recommended Constellation: C4.

Xiao

• Turn himself into the strongest Anemo DPS after using his Elemental Burst. Greatly increasing damage, and jump height. Just spam Plunge Attack to banish your enemies.
• Elemental Burst is what make him strong, but it come with a great cost too. Each second your health will get drained.
• Recommended Constellation: C0.

Xingqiu

• Because he has Hydro element, he capable to unlock Vaporize and Freeze reactions which is a very strong reactions. And he does that really well.
• High damage, good energy recharge rate, constantly apply Hydro reaction, mini healing, damage reduction. He has all of it.
• Recommended Constellation: C6.

Xinyan

• Can create shield based on her DEF, provide an utility to help Physical team.
• Elemental Skill scale from DEF, but her Elemental Burst still scale from ATK. Building her is such a difficult thing to do, and boring.
• Recommended Constellation: C0.

Yae Miko

• Great Elemental Skill that has a wide area of attack and ability to spam.
• Has a lot of Electro DMG with its Elemental Burst and Charged Attack.
• Recommended Constellation: C0

Yanfei

• 4 star version of Klee.
• Charged attack is her main damage source. Compared to other 4 star, those numbers is actually high.
• Recommended Constellation: C1.

Yoimiya

• Using her Elemental Skill will make her Normal Attack turn into Pyro. But unfortunately, even though she has a good attack speed, her Normal Attack has an internal cooldown. Making her elemental reaction distracted.
• Her Elemental Burst buff doesn’t effect herself. But she still a good boss killer.
• Recommended Constellation: C0.

Yun Jin

• Great Normal Attack buffer, even though there is no character that releases her maximum potential.
• Will be much better if you use team composition with elemental diversity.
• Recommended Constellation: C2.

Zhongli

• The strongest Geo character, especially if we talking about shield. This shield only can make him into one of the best character in Genshin Impact because of how strong it is.
• His Elemental Burst turns your enemies into stone.
