Arataki Itto is the new five star Geo character in Genshin Impact update 2.3. As a five star, people might think that Itto is gonna be a good character. In fact, yes he is. In this Genshin Impact tier list, I classified him as a DPS and give him an S tier.
Yes, he’s an S-tier character, but if you build him in the wrong way, your Itto might be not as strong as he is in the story. Genshin Impact only has a few Geo DPS, before Itto arrives in the new update, we only have Ningguang, even though she is strong too. But because Itto has more stars than her, it is fair if we expect that he has a better performance than her.
As you might know, building a DPS character is harder than the others. Fortunately, Arataki Itto comes to us with the good news that his offensive ability can scale with DEF. Not a new thing, but good news is still a good news.
How to Get Arataki Itto?
You can get him by pulling in his banner called Oni’s Royale. It starts from 14 December until 22 January 2022. Together with him, you can get Barbara, Gorou, and Xiangling as the four star rate up. For your info, Xiangling is an S-tier character, even though she can not be in the same team with Itto.
Genshin Impact Arataki Best Itto Build and Gameplay Overview
Itto is a unique Claymore DPS character. When the other claymore users depend on Normal Attack, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst, Itto has Charged Attack as his main damage source. Itto doing this really well. You will see a lot of big numbers hanging on your screen when you hold your button.
What makes his Charged Attack called Arataki Kesagiri shines among the other Claymore user is that he has a stack called Superlative Superstrength. It makes his Charged Attack doesn’t consume any stamina. And how easy to collect these stacks is what makes him even better. You can use Normal Attack at the second and fourth hit, your pet from Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst to make every your Normal Attack can gather stack.
Just spam your Charged Attack whatever your stack is full. Playing him is fun for me. Remind me of how Diluc’s Passive Skill. Genshin Impact is finally made Charged Attack work really well on Claymore users.
Genshin Impact Arataki Itto Attacks, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst
Just like mentioned before, Itto is strong because of his Charged Attack. His normal attack at second and fourth hit will gather a stack called Superlative Superstrength, up to 5 stacks. If you use Charged Attack, these stacks will drain in order to compensate your need for stamina. Arataki Kesagiri is what his Charged Attack is called, what makes it better than the other Charged Attack is because it’s ATK SPD. Itto is Claymore will swing really fast and in each hit, will deal a lot of damage.
Itto’s Elemental Skill summons a pet that looks like a bull carrying a roof on its back called Ushi. Besides taunting mobs, Ushi can help Itto to get stack. When Ushi hit the enemy, Itto gain 1 stack. If Ushi gets hit, +1 stack with 2 seconds cooldown. If Ushi went, +1 stack. So it’s mean that you will get a minimum of 2 stack and maximum of 4 stacks with Elemental Skill.
Using Elemental Burst will make every Itto is Normal Attack grant Superlative Superstrength stack. Also, turn his Normal and Charged Attack into Geo DMG. In this state, his ATK SPD will increase, the same thing also applied to his damage (based on his DEF stat). He will become a selfish DPS, meaning that you can’t switch characters in this state. Also, remember that his resistance got nerfed too.
Genshin Impact Arataki Itto Passive Skill
Arataki Ichiban (First): When Itto using Charged Attack, every hit will increase his ATK SPD 10% (Up to 30%). Increase resistance to interruption.
Bloodline of the Crimson Oni (Second): Increase damage of Itto is Charged Attack by 35% based on Itto is DEF.
Woodchuck Chucked (Utility): When party members get a wood from tree, 25% chance to get extra wood.
Genshin Impact Arataki Itto Strenghts and Weaknesses
Strengths
Fastest Claymore character. Thanks to his Passive Skill called Arataki Ichiban, his ATK SPD increase every time his Charged Attack hits an enemy. By this means, the concept of Claymore user is a slow character doesn’t apply to him.
Taunting. His pet from his Elemental Skill can be used to taunt mobs. It’s like Mona’s Elemental Skill.
Weaknesses
Reduce resistance after using Elemental Burst. Make sure you bring a healer or shield maker to your team. Diona or Zhongli is a good option.
Energy Issue. With his 70 Energy Cost, you need to bring at least one battery to your team. Even though his Elemental Skill produces many particles, only bringing Itto as a Geo character is still not enough.
Genshin Impact Arataki Itto Best Artifact
Husk of Opulent Dreams is definitely the best artifact for Arataki Itto. Even though you only equip 2 of them, 30% DEF bonus is still a good thing for him. It will boost your durability plus your Geo DMG at the same time. And if you gather 4 of them, his strength gonna be stronger many times over.
Archaic Petra is your alternative. Especially if you can gather four of them. This artifact will be better if you play Geo team only. Meaning the shard that you get only boost Geo DMG.
Retracing Bolide is your second alternative. Considering that Itto’s main damage source is his Charged Attack, this artifact will boost that damage up to 40%. Actually, both of them are pretty good if you can not get 4 Husk of Opulent Dreams.

Genshin Impact Arataki Itto Best Weapon
His signature weapon is his best choice. Redhorn Stonethresher will increase your DEF along with your Normal and Charged Attack based on defense. I can say that this weapon will boost Itto very much. Because stacking DEF is what makes Itto strong in the first place, the effect of this weapon will get so much impact from it.
It’s okay if your luck does not side you, Whiteblind is still a good alternative for Itto. This weapon’s effect still increases your defense stat, as long as your attack too. Not too bad as an alternative. Or if you have Serpent Spine, that is a good choice too. But considering Whiteblind is full f2p friendly, you can maximize this weapon into refinement 5 easily.

Genshin Impact Arataki Itto Best Constellation
Constellation 2 will make Itto is Elemental Burst has 100% uptime. It will give you cooldown reduction and gain energy recharge based on how many Geo characters are in your team. In total, 4,5s cooldown reduction, and 18 energy. It will solve one of Itto’s problem which is energy issue.
Is it really important? Not for me. It does not make Itto into a totally OP character. It just makes him stronger.
