New year, new character. Shenhe is the first Genshin Impact 5-star character released in 2022. Many fans have already waited for her to be released. And now since she is already here, Shenhe build may become one the most popular words in Genshin Impact.
Shenhe is a Cryo character that uses Polearm as her weapon. Her role is supposed to be a Support, especially for Cryo DPS like Ayaka or Ganyu.
Maybe you can change her, try a new meta and build Shenhe as the Main DPS, just like some random people do when they get bored, or admire a character too much. But not me.
In this guide, I will tell you how to build her as a Support in this Shenhe build. Like what miHoYo wants when they create her.
How to Get Shenhe?
Shenhe is one of the most anticipated character in Genshin Impact 2.4. There are a lot of big names like Zhongli, Ganyu, and Xiao, but as a brand new 5-star, Shenhe has her own spot in this update.
You can get her when Arataki Itto‘s banner end. It will be ready on 5 January 2022. I will pray for your luck and hope that you can get Yun Jin as well.
Genshin Impact Shenhe Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst
Spring Spirit Summoning is her Elemental Skill. When you activate it, all party members will gain Icy Quil effect; it will increase all their base damage based on Shenhe’s ATK if they give Cryo DMG. What differs this skill from the other characters is you have two options; tap or hold. Basically, when you hold it, you will gain more stacks and duration.
- Tap: Shenhe charge along with her Talisman and deal Cryo DMG to enemies along its path.
- Hold: Her Talisman will deal Cryo DMG.
Divine Maiden’s Deliverance is her Elemental Burst. Shenhe releases Talisman Spirit that constantly reduces enemies Cryo and Physical Resistance and deals Cryo DMG.
Shenhe has a unique ability that turns her into great support for Cryo character. And more thing to know is that she has double ability in her Elemental Skill. With her Base DMG buffer and reduce Cryo Resistance, she is gonna be a good Cryo Support.
Genshin Impact Shenhe Passive Talents
Precise Comings and Goings, When Shenhe sends into an expedition in Liyue for at least 20 hours, she will gain 25% more resources.
Deific Embrace, Active character in Divine Maiden’s Deliverance are will gain 15% Cryo DMG bonus.
Spirit Communication Seal, After Shenhe releases her Elemental Skill, nearby party members will gain this effect:
- Tap: Increase 15% Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst for 10s.
- Hold: Increase 10% Basic, Charged, and Plunge Attack for 15s.
Genshin Impact Shenhe Build
Best Artifact
Shenhe is a Support. Usually, all support will prefer an Energy Recharge artifact like Emblem of Severed Fate. Bur for her, that’s not the case.
She will be better if u use Attack bonus artifacts like Gladiator’s Finale and Shimenawa’s Reminiscence. Her Icy Quil effect can increase party members is Base DMG, and her ATK is the main source to amplify it.
Stacking more ATK is her best choice. Just like how her signature weapon work, Calamity Queller.

Best Weapon
You have a lot of options in this section. Basically, what you wanna looking for is a weapon that can give her: ATK and Energy Recharge.
Both of them have at least one main function for Shenhe to make her ability as a Support becomes better. ATK will increase her buff damage. Energy Recharge for her spamming buff.
Those weapons can match correctly in this Shenhe build.

 Engulfing Lighthing (1st Alt) | Attack increased by 28% of Energy Recharge over the base 100%. Shenhe can gain a maximum bonus of 80% ATK. Gain 30% Energy Recharge for 12s after using an Elemental Burst. |
 Skyward Spine (2nd Alt) | Increases CRIT Rate by 8%. Increases Normal ATK SPD by 12%. Normal and Charged Attacks that hits on enemies have a 50% chance to trigger a vaccuum blade that deals 40% of ATK as DMG in a small AoE. This effect can occur once every 2s. |
 Lithic Spear (3rd Alt) | Every character in party who are from Liyue, will give 7% ATK and 3% CRIT rate increases for Shenhe. Max 4 stacks. |
Genshin Impact Shenhe Pros and Cons
Pros
Taking Shenhe to your Cryo team is like bringing Anemo character with Viridescent Venerer. Even though they have a 40% Anemo Resistance reduction, Shenhe has Cryo DMG bonus. Both of them are still a win-win solution.
In total you will get:
- 15% Cryo DMG bonus (Elemental Burst with Deific Embrace)
- 15% Cryo and Physical Resistance reduction (Elemental Burst Lv.10)
- 15% Elemental Skill and Burst DMG bonus (Elemental Skill tap with Spirit Comunion Seal)
- 15% Basic, Charged, and Plunge ATK DMG bonus (Elemental Skill hold with Spirit Comunion Seal)
- Base damage increase from 77,62 Shenhe’s ATK. (Icy quil)
Such a great number to help your DPS take down enemies faster. Shenhe has a lot things to help your DPS.
Cons
You can only use her maximum potential in Cryo team. Before you choose to pull her, make sure you know her cons. So you won’t regret it in the future. Especially with her Icy Quil that can only activate if you deal Cryo DMG.
Cryo Support already has Diona, which is one of the best support in the game. The question is, is Shenhe really can replace Diona? After reading her skill above, I think you can already make your decision.

You need these items to upgrade her talent to lv.10:
- Prosperity (38 Philosphies, 21 Guides, 3 Teachings).
- 32 Shimmering Nectar, 22 Energy Nectar, 6 Whopperflower.
- 6 Hellfire Butterflies.
- 1 Crown of Insights.
- 1.652.000 Mora.
Character Ascension Material
You need these items in order to maximize her level:
- 168 Qingxin.
- 36 Energy Nectar, 30 Shimmering Nectar, 18 Whopperflower.
- 9 Shivada Jade Fragment, 9 Shivada Jade Chunck, 6 Shivada Jade Gemstone, 6 Shivada Silver.
- 430 Hero’s Wit.
- 420.000 Mora.
Genshin Impact Shenhe Best Constellation
First Constellation is the best for her. If you think you are lucky enough and have more resources, you can get her first constellation called Clarity of Heart.
With this, you can achieve a double bonus from her Elemental Skill. Thats a good buff for her, but still not a game changer. Using this Shenhe build above is still better than forcing to get her constellation.

Just like we already know, playing Cryo team means playing with Freeze or sometimes a Melt combo. But unfortunately, Shenhe will work as she used to be only with one of those, which is Freeze team.
The reason why the Melt team doesn’t work is because Ganyu, Diona, Xiangling, and Bennet are irreplaceable in this team. They are all already synchronized perfectly. Having Shenhe only gonna ruin that team.
But with the Freeze team, you can use her to replace Diona or other Support characters.
