Genshin Impact Best Yun Jin Build: Materials, Weapons, and Skills

Genshin Impact releases Yun Jin as the first 4-star in 2022. Is she a good character? or maybe not? The answer is also depending on how you build her. That’s why I make this Yun Jin build.

Before we talk about Yun Jin deeper, did you know that her release is on the same date with Shenhe? In case you also want to pull her, you may want to check on how to build Shenhe. So you can prepare for her materials too.

Yun Jin is Geo character with Polearm as her main weapon. Just like Shenhe, she is supposed to be a Support character. She is the first new 4-star character in Genshin Impact 2.4 Update.

This Director of Yun-Han Opera Troupe, Yun Jin, just like any others Inazuma 4-star, is a great buffer for some specific characters, especially those who use Normal Attack as their main damage source.

So, to make sure that Yun Jin becomes a reliable Support, make sure you build her correctly. On this page, without any further, let’s take a look on how to build Yun Jin.

How to Get Yun Jin?

Her hype may not be as big as her 5-star friend, Shenhe. But still, after miHoYo releases her demo character on their official Youtube, her fans are getting higher.

Many people like how she looks, the way she speaks about her passion for Opera, etc. And as a new character and Opera singer, of course, she has her own spotlight at this stage.

You can get Yun Jin when Itto’s banner ends. She will be there so you can pull her along with Shenhe on 5 January 2022.

Genshin Impact Yun Jin Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst

Opening Flourish is her Elemental Skill. Yun Jin also has double Elemental Skill just like Shenhe. You can choose between tap or hold.

  • Tap: Dealing Geo DMG by swinging her polearm.
  • Hold: Taking a stance and charging to create a shield for herself. So don’t expect her to be like Zhongli. This shield has damage absorption based on Yun Jin’s HP and has 150% effectiveness against any Elemental and Physical DMG. After duration ends, or the shields break up, Yun Jin will deal Geo DMG.

Cliffbreaker’s Banner is her Elemental Burst. Yun Jin will deal AoE Geo DMG to nearby enemies and give all party members Flying Cloud Flag Information.

  • Flyting Cloud Flag Information: When landing a hit with Normal Attack, get bonus damage based on Yun Jin’s DEF. It will ends when the maximum triggered number, or the duration is finished (reach the maximum quota). Hitting more enemies will multiple the DMG Bonus.

Yun Jin is definitely a character I need to pull. Especially if you like to use Normal Attack characters, like Yoimiya or Noelle.

Why do I say Noelle? Isn’t that she just a long forgotten character? Yes, you are right if you say that she can’t compete with a powerhouse DPS like Ganyu or Ayaka, but with Yun Jin, maybe, only maybe, she can do that, even though is just their half. Noelle is a Normal Attack character, and because she is a Claymore user, she is slow.

Genshin Impact Yun Jin Passive Talents

Light Nourishment: When Yun Jin cooks food with Perfect Cooking achieved, she has 12% chance to double the food.

True to Oneself: Using Elemental Skill when enemies attack will unleash its Lv. 2 Charged(Hold) Form. The same mechanic system as Beidou.

Breaking Conventions: Increases Elemental Burst’s Bonus DMG to 2,5/5/7,5/11,5% based on how many elemental types in the team, 1/2/3/4.

By this means, to maximize Yun Jin’s Passive you can’t use 1 elemental combo, just like people usually use in Arataki Itto’s team.

Depending on you whether this is a good thing or not. For me, yes, if I can choose, I still prefer to use multiple elements, rather than 1 element only.

Genshin Impact Yun Jin Build

Best Artifact

Husk of Opulent Dreams (Best)

2-set Equipped: Increases DEF by 30%.

4-set Equipped: Yun Jin will get Curiosity effect. Get 1 stack if she attack enemy with Geo DMG, triggering once every 0,3s. If she not on the field, gain 1 stack every 3s. Max 4 stacks. 1 stack give 6% DEF and 6% Geo DMG bonus.  If in 6s pass without getting any stack, 1 stack will lost.

Tenacity of the Millelith (1st Alt.)

2-set Equipped: Increases HP by 20%.

4-set Equipped: If Yun Jin's Elemental Skill hits an enemy, increases ATK of all party members by 20%, and their Shield Strength is increased by 30% for 3s. Triggered once every 0,5s. When Yun Jin is not on the field, this effect can still be triggered.

Archaic Petra (2nd Alt.)

2-set Equipped: Increases Geo DMg by 15%.

4-set Equipped: When Yun Jin obtain Elemental Shards through Crystalize reaction, party members gain 35% Elemental damage bonus depending on what Elemental Shard.

As a support that has a lot of scaling based on DEF, Yun Jin’s best artifact is definitely Husk of Opulent Dream. Her Elemental Burst is basically what makes her unique, that’s why you need to prioritize that thing.

Tenacity of the Millelith can become Yun Jin’s alternative, since it can increase her shield strength. But because she has a selfish shield, meaning that your Main DPS can get many advantages because of that, I don’t really recommend this.

Archaic Petra is also her alternative. Even though Yun Jin is a Support, she can deal damage too. But I still prefer to give that job to my Main DPS and Sub DPS, and let Yun Jin support them.

Best Weapon

Skyward Spine (Best)

Increases CRIT Rate by 8%. Increases Normal ATK SPD by 12%. Normal and Charged Attacks that hits on enemies have a 50% chance to trigger a vaccuum blade that deals 40% of ATK as DMG in a small AoE. This effect can occur once every 2s.

Engulfing Lighthing (1st. Alt)

Attack increased by 28% of Energy Recharge over the base 100%. Shenhe can gain a maximum bonus of 80% ATK. Gain 30% Energy Recharge for 12s after using an Elemental Burst.

Favonius Lance (2nd Alt.)

Crit hits have 60% chance to regenerate 6 Energy for Yun Jin. Can only be occur once every 12s.

The Catch (3rd Alt.)

Increases Elemental Burst DMG by 16%, and Elemental Burst Crit by 6%.

Bad luck for Yun Jin. She needs to depend on DEF, but unfortunately, there are no Polearms that can provide that.

So your best alternative, is a weapon that gives Yun Jin Energy Recharge. Like I said before, her Elemental Burst is her main source to become a reliable Support.

Can spamming her Burst can’t go any wrong. And the good thing is, there are a lot of Polearms that can utilize this.

Even though Energy Recharge is not as good as DEF for Yun Jin, don’t be sad. Energy Recharge is the most universally stat that can be used on almost any character in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact Yun Jin Pros and Cons

If you pair Yun Jin with the right character, you will see how good she is. But if not, disappointment may come to you.

Having her in your team is like an investment. Maybe you can’t really use her properly right now, not because she is bad, but because there are no characters that can really depend on her.

So when Genshin Impact releases them, all your waiting will be paid.

As a support, you can not use her in any team conditions like Bennet or Zhongli. I’m sorry if this is kinda unfair to compare her with the SS-tier Support like them. I just want to tell you about the bigger picture.

If I compared her with Shenhe for example, yes, Yun Jin can compete with her even though she is just a 4-star character. But, only if Shenhe supports random elemental teams, not the Cryo one.

One more thing, Shenhe already has Ganyu or Ayaka to make her shine as a Support, while Yun Jin doesn’t really have anyone.

Genshin Impact Yun Jin Ascension Materials

  • 6 Ashen Heart.
  • 1 Crown of Insight.
  • 1.652.000 Mora.

  • 430 Hero’s Wit.
  • 420.000 Mora.

Genshin Impact Yun Jin Best Constellation

Myriad Mise-En-Scene is her second constellation. This is Yun Jin’s best constellation. It will increase her buff from her Elemental Burst. It will boost all party members is Normal Attack DMG up to 15% for 12s.

Buffing her Elemental Burst is her main prioritize, since she can’t get any upgrade from her weapon because of lack of choices.

Genshin Impact Yun Jin Best Team Composition

Yoimiya / Noelle (DPS)

Yoimiya and Noelle is a Normal Attack DPS characters. Yoimiya stands out because she can deals a lot of damage in each arrows, but too fast. While Noelle is good because she is a slow character, but still hit strong enough.

Xingqiu / Raiden Shogun (Sub DPS)

Use Xingqiu if u use Yoimiya to make vaporize reaction. Use Raiden Shogun if you prefer Noelle as your main DPS, she can act as great battery for Yun Jin.

Bennet (Support)

Bennet for healing and ATK buffer.

This is the hardest part for her besides her weapon. Both of them have the same problem, few options.

Yoimiya and Noelle can be a good DPS for Yun Jin. But, Yoimiya even though she use Normal Attack most of the time, and considered as a strong DPS, her ATK SPD is too fast, making Yun Jin’s quota drain too fast.

While for Noelle, Nobody really talks about her because she is not that good since the beginning. Supporting her is like supporting player who always watching the games from the bench, all the time.
